Prior to opening KSL, Kari honed her profession with multiple positions of increasing responsibility at Kraft Foods. Her most recent position at the company was Category Finance Manager, where she was responsible for planning and analyzing results for a cheese brand that generated over $1 billion in annual revenue. Working with the category team, Kari created the annual financial plan and mid-year forecast revisions. She implemented planning best practices for the mid-year reforecast, reducing the planning time by 66%. Kari also created a financial business proposition for a new product line extension. The product was successfully launched in less than six months, which was 50% quicker than standard launch timing. Prior to that, Kari held several positions related to commodity and inventory accounting. She gained extensive experience in the financial flow of raw materials being converted to finished product, including a leadership role on the largest inventory conversion to SAP in the company’s history. In each of her roles at Kraft, Kari was recognized as a financial systems “go to” person and conducted a great deal of training on multiple systems.
